The idea of what a network is is usually overcomplicated, but a network is just a set of connected devices. Whether wired or wireless, as long as the devices are connected in some way, you have a network! Networking is essential to cybersecurity. It is important to understand how different nodes and connections in a network function in order to locate and resolve attacks and other issues. Without a solid foundation of networking, it becomes much harder to navigate the network you are trying to protect (or attack).
